Training: License to Carry and Basic Handgun courses

(After completing the Online LTC class, you must schedule a 1-2 hour proficiency training and qualification course with a certified instructor.)



What you need to know for the Texas License To Carry (LTC) class:


YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO SHOOT BEFORE YOU COME TO THE RANGE TO QUALIFY FOR LTC

  • If you do not know how to load, unload and fire a handgun, take our Basic Handgun Course prior to LTC class day.
  • The state eligibility requirements can be found in GC §411.172.
  • The federal firearms disqualifiers can be found in 18 USC 44 §922.


1. We will assist you with:

  • Your application process with Austin
  • State required classroom training
  • Documentation
  • Shooting Range Qualifications and Testing


2. Bring the following items:

  • Your state I.D., Driver's License, or US Passport
  • Your UNLOADED semi-automatic or revolver handgun and UNLOADED magazine(s) in a bag or case
    • Only standard handgun calibers can be shot on our range. 
  • 50 rounds of ammunition for the qualification exercise


3. The Proficiency test will require the following:

          3 yard distance = 20 rounds

          7 yard distance = 20 rounds

         15 yard distance = 10 rounds
